AMSTERDAM
Holland offers the beauty of Kukenhof Gardens near Leiden, combined with walks through remote villages close to Haarlem where back yards open up to fields overflowing with shocks of colorful tulips and hyacinths forming stripes on the landscape. The historic town of Delft, home to Johannes Vermeer, the infamous Red Light District of Amsterdam, reflections of the gabled houses in the water, houseboats filled with furniture and potted plants, locals in the afternoon sun drifting down the canals on boats filled with wine and cheese, all combine to make Holland and ideal setting in the spring, and the object of a photographer's affection.
